Healthy Habits – For Kids,Teens, Adults and Families
Family Medical Group Northeast is happy to support the Healthy Habits program for kids, teens, adults and families. Our Care Coordinators can provide support and ideas for kids, teens, and their parents, related to developing healthy lifestyle habits. This includes promoting healthy eating and consistent physical activity.
The goal of our Care Coordinators is to provide you and your family with the ideas and tools to be able to integrate healthy habits into your daily life. We will continually post resources to this page of our website and you can also ask that one of our Care Coordinators call you to discuss the needs of your family.
One tool our office promotes is the 5-2-1-0 program which stands for:
· 5 – Fruits and vegetables… more matters! Eat fruit and vegetables at least 5 times a day. Limit 100% fruit juice.
· 2 – Cut screen time to 2 hours or less a day.
· 1 – Participate in at least one hour of physical activity every day.
· 0 – Restrict soda, sugar-sweetened sports and fruit drinks. Instead, drink water and fat-free/skim or 1% milk instead.
